The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – truly monumental. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
