Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slams this year. Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments this season due to a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half. The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health before starting next year's training. Those preparations are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season. She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day. She again required a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round. Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the final set versus Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has troubled her at times this year. Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after more than three years since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses. She held three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month. She secured twenty-eight matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March. As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth. She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open. The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled in the coming months. She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret. The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August. Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
