Passionate supporters of the pop star are urging that a man who jumped a barrier and seized the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A viral clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing photographers and charging at Grande while the actors walked down a promenade flanked by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was set to attend court on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram feed features recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last winter.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," commented an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Express Concern Over the Star's Past Trauma

Several fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented one more message on Instagram.

Some attendees also questioned security officers at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals demanded online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Event Details

In footage circulating online, Grande looked shocked when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.

The show itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful film of last year in the UK, and scored a dozen award recognitions, winning a pair for outstanding attire and production design.
