British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community offered sympathy for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
