🔗 Share this article Adult Swim's Premier New Show of 2025 Secures a Significant Renewal for Two More Seasons. In October of last year, Adult Swim saw the return of its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. But, later that same month, the network unveiled a brand-new animated series with a distinctly unique tone. Haha, You Clowns was heartwarming and calm, in the spirit of a cartoon version of a serene talk show. At a time often defined by bleakness, this show's wholesomeness resonated deeply and turned it into a breakout hit. A Major Commitment On December 18th, the network made a major announcement: Haha, You Clowns has been picked up for two additional seasons. This gives showrunner Joe Cappa a massive runway to further explore the story of the Campbell family. The series focuses on three respectful teenage brothers whose central trait is their strong bond for their single father, with Cappa providing the voices for all four central characters. "My deepest thanks go to the audience of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and helped it grow," remarked Cappa. "It's thrilling that I get to hang out at the Campbell household for seasons to come." Network Praise Accompanying the news laudits from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who described the series as "radically heartfelt and strangely uncanny." He specifically highlighted the fans who embraced the show and championed its uniquely offbeat appeal. "All of you got behind this new show, rooted for it on social media, and grew it week over week so we could approve not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. "In the words: 'You are strong! You are loved!'" A Comforting Counterpoint When it first aired, Haha, You Clowns was hailed as "a wholesome alternative" to other adult animated fare. It offers something unexpectedly cozy about observing this lovable family go about their daily lives. In earlier interviews, creator Joe Cappa expressed his goal to help comedy break out of its current sarcastic tone. He linked this trend to various cultural shifts. “We're stuck in a cycle of irony that we keep returning to,” said Cappa. “The attitude is that we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for too long, and we need to laugh at something different now. It's time for comedy to grow.” The Path Forward Now, with Haha, You Clowns set to continue, Cappa may well catalyze that very evolution. At a minimum, the renewal guarantees audiences a little more time to enjoy the heartfelt moments of the beloved Campbell clan. The final episode of Season 1 of Haha, You Clowns will premiere on December 21st. All episodes is currently streaming on HBO Max.
